I don’t know why I always find this a difficult piece of the website to write??!! Perhaps because I must chat about myself? In that case, I will chat about Michael, the principal photographer first.
The “M” of M&L Fotographics is Michael. Photography has always been Michael’s career. Like so many photographers, his passion for the art of photography began at an early age. His Father gave him his first camera. Michael developed his photography skills over the years; from working and photographing with film as well as darkroom processing and printing, to the digital photography technology that we have today.
Michael’s style is not defined by one or two words. He has a vision for his photos. He wants to create a crisp, clean, beautifully lit photo that captures a wonderful memory. Michael has always enjoyed wedding photography. It is a favourite of his. A wedding is a wonderful day with so much joy and happiness that it is a pleasure to photograph. It is also a fast-paced day that requires great skill, patience, and professionalism.
When Michael is not behind the camera or in front of the computer editing, he loves to play music. He has been an avid guitar player for about as long as he has been a photographer. He has even played professionally on stage on multiple occasions!
One final note is that Michael recently completed his Wedding Consultant certification with WPIC (Wedding Planners Institute of Canada). Just trying to add another level of support to wedding clients.
Now to chat about myself,
The “L” of M&L Fotographics is Liz. Technically it is, Elizabeth, but we thought that ME Fotographics would be a little odd. Unlike Michael, I have not always been a photographer. My very first camera was a Polaroid instant – the original style. Although I have always enjoyed photography, I come from a business background, and a very interesting one at that! Since joining forces with Michael 16 years ago to create M&L Fotographics, I have been learning the art of photography and enjoy being the second shooter as well as growing the business – I don’t just hold one of the flashes.
When I am not working, I enjoy reading, baking, spending time with family and my furry friends McGonagall and Bella.
Oh, and yes, both of us are married. Married to each other.
Michael and I enjoy the whole experience of working with our clients; not just the photography element but from our initial meetings to presenting the finished product! Many of our clients return to us for maternity sessions, baby sessions, family photos, business headshots, business branding, and any other of their photography needs.
We are truly grateful to all our clients and the trust they have in us.
Thank You!
